Keep reading to help underprivileged kids!
Also, I wanted to thank the kids and their families that generously donated to help support Mrs. Vu's family after their tragic loss. I am so proud of the children as they love and support those less fortunate then themselves!

- Current Events:
- Today we voted for president. Since Scholastic has been having students cast their votes since 1940, only twice has the child population been wrong! Polls close tonight at midnight, but it's a really cool way to discuss current events and both the right and responsiblity to be an informed voter! http://magazines.scholastic.com/Election-2012/Vote
- We discussed the many roles of the executive branch of the government during our last SS unit. Here is a fun game on the "Seven Hats (jobs) of the President!" http://teacher.scholastic.com/scholasticnews/games_quizzes/president_roles/index.htm
- We were exploring female leaders around the world: http://www.filibustercartoons.com/charts_rest_female-leaders.php
Each letter should be heartfelt, handwritten, original, and free of any political statements. The purpose of the letter is to express thanks to the military personnel currently deployed outside the United States. We reserve the right to eliminate those messages that are political in nature and do not reflect a positive message in the spirit of Thanksgiving.
- All letters must be on 8.5” x 11” paper or smaller.
- Do not use glue, tape, staples, cardboard, glitter or otherwise attach anything to the paper.
- Decorate using crayons, markers, pens or pencils.
- Use both sides if you like, but use one page per letter only.
- Do not send greeting cards or photographs.
- Do not send anything except letters.
Please note: I do not recommend the Bert Show for our kids, as much of the discussion is very inappropriate!!
