Friday Updates

  • We came in number 3 in the school with 87% in Spirit Wear-Awesome job!
  • The read-in was a nice way to end our Friday!  The kids loved the popcorn as well.  Thank you to Mrs. Whelan and Mrs. McIlhinney who were our parent readers this week and last week!
  • Progress skills checklists went home today along with access to Study Island and online textbook codes.  Please do not change the password for Study Island (even though it tells you to) because it would be way too difficult for all of the kids to remember it to use at school.  Thanks!
  • Next week is our assessment week - so there will be no spelling (which also means no spelling contract!), vocabulary, or story test.  :)
  • Lifetime Award party is on Tuesday!  That will be really exciting for the kiddos that raised over $175 to go!
  • The Awards Pep Rally is next Friday, October 7.  We are so proud to be one of the few classes going!!
  • Daily Multiplication timings begin on Tuesday.  Please look for the nightly letter.  We will start with the square numbers, then 2's, 5's, and continue.  Please study flashcards daily and allow your kids to practice using online games!
  • We talked a lot about asking for help directly or sticking a post-it note on my desk for individual questions which has been really successful.  We are also working under a no-loud voices mantra in the classroom.  At the end of day 4, the kids said they needed my "regular" voice for the spelling test, otherwise, it was all calm, all whispers, all week.  :)  The kids and I really like it.
  • I am looking forward to conferences the next 3 weeks.  Please email me if you need to reschedule or need a reminder of our scheduled time.
  • As always, I have an open door policy.  The children are my number 1 priority-they are the reason I come to work each day!  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me.
Have a great weekend!

Take a look at the kids enjoying their Reward Read In!
