Caught Doing Good - Week 3

Thank you to the Rose family for sharing about Locks of Love!  We measured out 10 inch strands of hair colored yarn to see how long the hair must be (as well as prepare for unit 6 in math - measurement!) and to see how much hair it takes to make one complete hairpiece!

WHAT IS LOCKS OF LOVE?

Locks of Love is a charity that provides hairpieces to financially disadvantaged children in the United States and Canada suffering from long-term medical hair loss. They meet a unique need for children by using donated hair to create the highest quality hair prosthetics. (That is what Abby and Naomi are saving their hair!)  The hairpieces they provide help to restore their self-esteem and their confidence, enabling them to face the world and their peers.
